Good Causes

London TriathlonSince our inception in 1990, we have supported many good causes via sensible, wild, wacky or sometimes painful means. Highlights have been Martin’s ascent of Kilimanjaro in 1999 – over £2500 was raised for SCOPE – and the 100km hike on the Great Wall of China in the previous year raising £2000 for the same Charity. On a more painful note, the ‘pedal to Paris’ of 2001 raised nearly £1000 for the Royal British Legion (3 days of saddle sores!) and the start of Martin’s Triathlon career (which has so far led to successful half-Ironman completion…) began in 2003 and raised over £400 for the RNLI at the London Triathlon.

In addition , for the last 10 years we have sponsored Hadj- a teenager in Senegal - via World Vision and would urge anyone reading this to do the same – for a few pounds a month whole communities’ lives can change. Go on, do it now at www.worldvision.org.uk. When we spend our days negotiating over hundreds of thousands of pounds it is important to retain perspective – there are whole communities in desperate need of a few pounds a month for fresh water and vaccination supplies.

Great Wall of ChinaIn 2007, Martin decided to look closer to home and give money from =20 the business to Grove House, a hospice in St Albans which provides =20 vital care and support for those affected by cancer in St Albans, =20 Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas. The business gave over =A34000 =20 and more was donated by the sales team who took part -in great style - =20 in the annual 10k run organised by the Hospice in October. In all, a =20 total very close to the =A35000 target was sent to Grove House last year.
