Founded by Martin Treasure in 1990, this agency started out as an alternative to the corporate firms for whom Martin had worked in the ‘80’s and all of whom have since failed! The likes of Prudential, Halifax, General Accident Property Services, Woolwich, Bradford and Bingley and Nationwide have all failed because estate agency is a local skill based on local knowledge, not “Hard Sell”!!
This is the secret of our success. More than half of our work comes though recommendation or repeat business: buyers and sellers alike return to us every few years when they move on. Our reputation as fair, hardworking and honest has been hard won, and is highly prized. This commitment to standards made the firm a founder member ( Number 000001) of the Ombudsmen for Estate Agents’ scheme. This means the firm is subject to outside scrutiny, a rigorous complaints procedure and must carry Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Martin Treasure Principal
Born and raised in St Albans, Martin has been in agency since starting as a pimply ‘Saturday boy’ in 1979 - and was Chairman of the Hertfordshire branch of the National Association of Estate Agents in 2003, 2004 and 2005 . He places high value on the public’s perception of estate agency, coming from a family which has been handling property in St Albans since the 1950’s in the guise of N E Hall (Martin’s grandfather). Away from work Martin has two teenage children, a large dog and a worrying enthusiasm for staying fit and playing guitar – not at the same time!
Graham Coton Senior Associate Partner
After originally working with Martin in 1994, Graham has worked for, amongst others, Black Horse Agencies , Dreweatt – Neate and Carter Jonas, succeeding in a large land and new homes division. Graham possesses the attention to detail especially required for mid and upper market transactions. He spends all his free time away from work being ‘dad’ to three daughters and therefore comes back to work for some peace and quiet!
Rod Fullbrook Associate Partner
Rod has worked for Martin for over ten years and has fantastic energy and experience to negotiate at all levels. He has incredible patience to help buyers and sellers alike through the ‘moving’ minefield and the single mindedness to see sales though and overcome problems that might arise. Away from work Rod has a fanaticism for Golf and two small children - which explains the occasional bags under his eyes on a Monday morning!
Rebecca Fountain
One of the unsung heroes - Rebecca is always on the phone or the PC,
updating clients, chasing applicants for feedback and arranging
viewings. Makes great cakes, probably explaining the expanding girth
of several team members!
Like Rebecca, Tania works hard behind the scenes making everything run smoothly. Always calling buyers and sellers and arranging appointments, Tania posesses endless patience and a great attention to detail - fortunately for us ! She has a great sense of humour and never loses her temper, whatever demands we make of her!
